I purchased this game looking for a fun way to add to my workout routine. In reality, I just flushed more than $50 down the Amazon proverbial toilet. The words "perfect" "great" "almost" and "boo" that pop up with EVERY SINGLE arrow you're supposed to follow only add to the distraction. Then there's the music.
There are many, many things about it that bother me so much that I seriously doubt I'll ever pull it out of the box a second time. Of the songs I listened to, they all sounded like they were specifically made for this lame game. While I can see that it would get your heart rate up, the game itself is AWFUL.
Perhaps I'm totally out of the loop when it comes to dance music, however I've been out dancing with friends enough to know what a good dance song is and I have to say that out of the 30 some-odd songs I scrolled through, I didn't find one that was good. While I (unlike my husband) am not "gamer nerd" enough to thoroughly discuss a game's "graphics" I have to say that this is one of the most poorly designed games I've ever seen. The screen and background are so busy that it's very difficult to see the see-through arrows you're supposed to follow.
I thought I'd be buying something fun and new to try. Don't waste YOUR time or money.
Fun for the whole family. I love this game it's fun and I burn the same amount of calories as my eliptical machine in less time and it's sooooo fun. I love the mat it slip a little but nothing major. Songs could be a little better. You'll love it
I was hoping for this game to be a good supplement for my cardio and dang, it's exceeded my expectations. I've never played DDR before opening the box for this game (though always wanted to), but I quickly became addicted. "Santa" brought this to our family for Christmas, but I think I'm the one who will make the most out of it. It's an excellent, FUN workout that doesn't get boring, and you don't feel like you're working out. I'm a stay at home mom of three young kids, my husband is away 12-14 hours a day, 6 days a week.so it's nearly impossible for me to make it to the gym anymore and the weight has been packing on. I've never been a fan of workout DVDs, and I could do crunches, pushups, and yoga for hours everyday without getting the maximum results that I'm looking for. I feel confident that if I do this for 30-60 mins a day I'll get some good results. I just played for about an hour and feel like I've been pushing myself at the gym, I was drenched in sweat.I also got DDRU 1, haven't tried that one out yet so I cannot compare between games but when the songs on this game start getting boring I'll have new tracks to dance to.
DDR is always a blast and a great way to get a good cardio and fat burning workout.
I havent had any problems with the game or mat. For a workout, I make SURE I am on beginner, and do the power getting for longer songs. I play on wood flooring, usually without socks on and have no issues with slipping. The tutorial is easy to understand, though once you think you have "beginner" down and move up to "basic" its much more advanced. Only downside is not being able to pause the game if you need to do anything, you just have to hop off and wait for it to fail you. Overall, Its a good time.
